Cast Iron Lamps
During the 17th and 18th century the Dutch fleet sailed to distant destinations to trade
and to bring home exotic spices, silk and other treasures.
In Holland this period was called the ‘Golden Age’. It was a time of wealth and luxury. In Amsterdam, along its famous canals, rich merchants built beautiful homes, their facades often elaborately decorated. Inside, impressive stairways would lead to the many rooms upstairs. Our lamps originate from these balustrades and staircases. These original elements have been turned into stylish cast-iron lamps.
